The story begins when the Orcs invaded the world of Azeroth. The human mage Medivh, under influence of the dark Titan Sargeras, had opened a portal between the world of Azeroth and Draenor, the Orcish homeworld, after communicating with Gul'dan. The Orcs invaded through the portal and attacked the human nation of Azeroth. The armies of Azeroth tried to defy the Horde but were overwhelmed. The human armies, led by Lord Anduin Lothar were gradually defeated. After finding out Medivh's betrayal, Lothar and the mage Khadgar led a small band of human warriors into the Medivh's tower and killed him. They could not stop the tide. King Llane was murdered by Garona the Half-orc and the Orcs laid siege to Stormwind Keep, the capital of Azeroth and destroyed it. Lord Lothar led the remains of the people over the great sea to Lordaeron, abandoning Azeroth to the Horde. This would set the story for Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness. The human survivors of Azeroth formed an alliance with the remaining human nations, led by Lordaeron, to face the Horde.
Both campaigns present separate continuities. The Human campaign ends with the destruction of Blackrock Spire and the defeat of the Horde while the Orcish campaign ends in the destruction of Stormwind Keep. Warcraft Lore considers the Orcish ending to be canon, but certain elements from the human campaign, like the slaying of Medivh and killing of King Llane by Garona, are also considered canon.
In Warcraft, you can choose from Nightelves, Orcs, Taurens, Trolls, Humans, Undead, Dwarves or Gnomes Campaign.
This game is great, and is still great after 13 years of being released. If youw ant to find out more Information go to:
